Tierra Roja Vineyard is in the Oakville Appellation of the
Napa Valley, California. The vineyard is named for the rich red soil
that gives the red wines from this region their intense flavor. This
powerful, yet elegant, Cabernet Sauvignon will be the first wine that is
made solely from the grapes of the Tierra Roja Vineyard of Oakville, Napa
Valley. The vineyard was named for the rich, red soil that gives the red
wines from this region their intense flavor. Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle’s
Maya and Joseph Phelp’s Bacchus are just a few of the neighboring vineyards
you may know.
Vineyard owner, Linda Neal, has empowered the winemaker, David DeSante, to
give these special grapes every luxury treatment to create a wine that will
become your favorite way to honor special people and occasions in your life.
The wine will not be released until September
of 2007, but you can sign up now to be on our mailing list. The goal will
be to produce 220 cases per year. However, only 160 cases were produced in
2004. 2004 will be the first vintage released. 120 cases will be
released for sale in September. |

"David DeSante is the winemaker and he
has let the red earth speak.
So often the wines from Napa have been
“over-made” with fruit oak and alcohol in a manner that is powerful but
not profound... This a a true estate wine.
...The pleasures of this wine are many,
but I find special joy in how the terroir of the red soils of Oakville
are captured in the glass and speaks to why these soils and these people
are special. 97 points"
